At one point I felt the line was becoming too rigid, though I wanted the preciseness of geometry. I wanted it softer in tone. The simplest method became to draw a dotted line so that you incorporate space and form, space – form; seeing and not seeing, abstract and concrete, tangible and intangible, so that the line becomes flexible.’ – Prabhakar Barwe in conversation with Neville Tuli rpt. in The Flamed Mosaic: Indian Contemporary Painting . New Delhi HEART/ Mapin 1997; p284.
