It was made several times in the last eight decades. Homi Wadia made it twice, once in 1952 with Meena Kumari and Mahipal, and again in 1978 with Sachin and Nazneen. The last released adaptation was in 2009 directed by Sujoy Ghosh, with Amitabh Bachchan as the genie.
