Nagina Nawrose Tempera and watercolour on paper (pasted on paperboard), 1939 S/d in Bengali ‘Radha Bagchi 1939’ and in Nastaliq ‘Radha Charan Bagchi’ l.r. Inscribed in Nastaliq ‘Nagine Nawrose- Mumtaz wa Shahjahan’ l.r. and in English ‘Nagina Nawrose/The Diamond of Nawrose. The first sighting between Mumtaz and Shah Jahan in the Market of Nawrose. The idea has been taken from history written in Urdu by a Mahomadan historian. This picture has been drawn by the artist himself independently without taking any help of others, in the 1st day of Dec. 1939.’ on verso.
