It would be difficult to determine what is referred to as horizon, the foreground, mid-distance, etc. in paintings which for all their structural solidity are abstract in essence. His recent paintings are built of structural parts, wedges, segments, angular drifts of paint which , while they have a directional movement, and suggest a sweeping view, cohere as a fabric of colour’ Richard Bartholomew. rpt.
