Only a few great artistic minds such as V.S.Gaitonde, K.C.S.Paniker, S.H.Raza, Biren De, Ambadas & J. Swaminathan sustained the battle, for despite a deep and long tradition of philosophical abstraction, the daily overwhelming presence of the human form and our imitated gods, allows little space for denying the inspiration from the omnipresent figure.
